The level of benefit and retention of all we learned depends to a great extent how much we participate in the process. 

It has been proven by important pedagogical and perception studies that human beings learn 10% of what we read, 20% of what we listen to and 30% of what we see. These learning experiences are unlimited because there are based solely on verbal or auditive means.      

Learning increases slightly when visual means are involved either through films or demonstrations; however, the learning experience remains passive, in other words individual does not participate in the learning activity but is limited to merely receiving messages.

Learning changes dramatically when there is active participation in the process, whether through debates, exhibitions or even simulations of the reality of the studies; therefore it has been proven that to the extent that the learning experience is attached to reality, the benefit factor will be much greater.
